It seems women are breaking any perceptions of their dating habits, as they're more than willing to be dating multiple guys at one time and don't think twice about asking a man out themselves.

The new dating research also shows that women are leaving no stone unturned in their search for the one; the average single female in the UK is currently dating more than one man at a time, and 23 per cent have three or more men on the go.  The average singleton female dates five men a year according to the T.G.I. Friday’s research.

Helping even-out the dating rules are Facebook, emails, and text messages, with 18 per cent of UK single females claiming that technology is helping them be more proactive on the dating scene.

When it comes to paying for dates, just one in six women expects a man to pay for the first date and 39 per cent think that splitting the bill is most appropriate. Men are also backing this change in attitude with a quarter saying they would expect a women to contribute to the bill and a further 24 per cent would expect to ‘go Dutch’.

Speaking about the findings, T.G.I. Friday’s UK managing director, Karen Forrester, said:  “When T.G.I. Friday’s started out in New York in 1965, it was one of the first singles bars where men and women felt comfortable letting their hair down and getting to know each other.  While the dating landscape has definitely changed, Friday’s still provides the perfect backdrop for couples to spend time together- no matter who picks up the bill.”
