There are always those TV characters that you prefer more as their character than as themselves and Damon Salvatore is one of them.
With The Vampire Diaries premiering on ITV2 last night, it got us thinking about the sexiest characters TV shows have to offer and here are FemaleFirst’s top 10!
1. Damon Salvatore
Played by Ian Somerhalder, this sexy vampire had to make the top of our list. He’s the bad boy we all wish we had in our lives and his love for Elena shows that he does have a softer side which just about melts us when we get a glimpse. It does help that he has a wicked sense of humour and a smashing pair of abs too!
2. Chuck Bass
Chuck Bass came a close second due to his ability for us to hate him but at the same time love the way he behaves around Blair. He goes from being downright arrogant to a caring gentleman and that’s what grabs us.
3. Dr Derek Shepard
Known as ‘Dr Dreamy’ it’s no surprise that Patrick Demsey’s character Dr Derek Shepard came third. Despite his obvious good looks and amazing hair he’s the good guy doctor who’s also a little bit arsey, something every woman likes in a man even though she shouldn’t.
4. Alcide Herveaux
Joe Manganiello is an obvious sex symbol but we love him even more as Alcide in True Blood. His masculinity combined with his instinct to protect is the thing that we love the most, as well as his dashing good looks, obviously.
5. Dr Gregory House
Hugh Laurie may be 53 but that doesn’t stop us finding his character in House extremely sexy. Dr Gregory House is intelligent, irritating, arrogant, frankly and idiot but all of this makes him incredibly lovable and that’s why he makes number 5 on our list!
6. Klaus
Every woman loves a bad boy and they don’t come much badder than this. He exploded into Mystic Falls with a bang and fans of The Vampire Diaries haven’t forgotten him since. Played by Joseph Morgan, he’s British (which is pretty much always a winner) and has a beautifully chiselled face which makes it incredibly easy to forget all the bad things he’s done. A bit too easy.
7. Dexter Morgan
Yes, we know, we shouldn’t be in any way attracted to a socially awkward, lying, serial killer but for some unknown and inexplicable reason we are. Maybe it’s because he’s damaged goods? Maybe it’s because we all fall for the wrong ones but whichever reason, we’re okay with it!
8. Don Draper
We should dislike Don Draper. He’s a womaniser, a heavy drinker and a serial cheater but we love him purely for the sparse occasions that he is a complete gentleman.
9. Robb Stark
His lovely curly locks, his ability to take the lead, his facial hair, what’s not the like about Robb Stark? We also love his softer side that comes out when he falls for young nurse Talisa. In addition, we love the fact that he is played by Richard Madden who is actually a Scotsman, yum.
10. Patrick Jane
He’s TVs good guy, helping the CBI to bring killers to justice in order to find his wife’s killer and take him down. What makes him sexy is his wit, his intelligence and his slight dark side the only comes out when Red John is about.
So there you have it FemaleFirst’s Top 10 Sexiest TV Characters. Is it wrong that it’s mostly filled with bad boys and womanisers? Possibly, but no one can deny that they are incredibly sexy men.
