Recently, Ubisoft announced that, for the first time in three years, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will be getting not only a new map, but a new Operator as well.

Season One of Year Seven is titled Demon Veil, and introduces players to Azami, an all-new Japanese Operator, in addition to a new map and a permanent Team Deathmatch game mode; updates for gameplay include Attacker Repick, universal sights, and more.

Within Demon Veil, players will be able to expose the secrets of new Operator, Azami. She is a mysterious Defender and, equipped with the Barrier gadget and throwable canisters, she can provide cover for herself, allowing her to defend herself and deal even more damage.

Azami’s unique gadget lets her fix holes in both walls and floors, creating a clever defensive approach to battle; she is a medium level in both health and speed, and her loadout includes a 9X19SVN or an ACS12 as a primary weapon and a D-50 as a secondary weapon.

As well as a new Operator, Rainbow Six Siege welcomes its first new map in three years; the Emerald Plains.

This modern map is set in glorious Ireland, and will be a great challenge for players, as they will have to traverse a whole new map, and the multiple levels within.

Attacker Repick will also be included in Year Seven, Season One; this lets Attackers change their Operator as well as their loadout during the Preparation Phase.

The match header has been updated in order to assist with choices in regard to changing Operator or loadout; Attacker repick is available for all game modes in the Quick Match, Unranked, Ranked, and Pro League playlists.

Demon Veil will not only bring a new Operator, map and gameplay, but it will also feature an all-new Team Deathmatch mode, which will be permanent.

The new Deathmatch mode has been added to create the ideal environment for users to practice before heading into competitive matches, as well as creating a more casual experience for gamers.

In addition, Demon Veil features Match Replay for console players, a spectator mode that has been available on PC since 2020; Operator balancing updates for Goyo and Valkyrie; and an exclusive, Elite skin for Nomad.

Year Seven, Season One will also welcome a new Incentive Program; when players report problems on R6Fix, and their statuses are ‘Under Investigation’, they will obtain one reward per season, determined by how severe the issues they reported were.

Rainbow Six Siege is now available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, the Xbox One family of consoles, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, including on Ubisoft+, Ubisoft’s subscription service, as well as Amazon Luna and Stadia.
