Cheryl Cole leaving the Radio 1 studios in London

Cheryl Cole "loves" fellow X Factor judge and friend Simon Cowell.

The 'Crazy Stupid Love' singer - who famously fell out with the music mogul after she was sensationally sacked from the US version of 'X Factor' in 2011 - is excited about working with him again on the UK show because she loves his honest approach.

Speaking on the 'Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw', she said: "He speaks his mind and says things people think but wouldn't dare say, which we all loved about him but as a person I do love him. Really. Simon has no filter. He doesn't care."

Cheryl also admitted she gets in trouble with 'X Factor' producers because she loves to quiz the contestants about their lives instead of just concentrating on their performances.

She said: " I'm fascinated by people, so I watch them and he's listening to whatever's going on, but I'm thinking about the point of view of on stage what they're going to be, all that stuff.

"I get told off, 'Stop asking questions', but I'm like, 'I want to know about this person.' "

And the brunette beauty can't wait to get back to the show, especially as she was always unsure whether she would ever want to return.

She said: "I feel excited. I love the process, I like finding new talent, it's just as much of a buzz for me.

It's took a few years for me to feel like it was right, I didn't know if it ever would, but this time it feels right, the time off really helped."

While Louis Walsh is expected to return to the judging panel alongside Simon and Cheryl, the singer is unsure who the fourth judge will be yet, but she would prefer a female.

She said: "Does Simon want another girl? Probably. I do."
