The former ‘TOWIE’ regular, 36, tours Britain in ‘A Wright Family Holiday’ – which starts Thursday (08.06.23) at 8pm on BBC One – with his brother Josh and dad Mark Senior, and said it made him reflect on his life and how his busy career impacted his loved ones.

The Sun reported he confesses in one episode of the show: “I can’t say no to work because I’m so in fear of losing it all. I have this real struggle overcoming that fear – that one day it’s genuinely all going to be gone.

“It spirals, doesn’t it? If I feel like I’m going to lose it all, that makes me work more, see my family less, and makes my head feel a bit more crazy.

“I know I’ve not been me and who I should have been the last few years, and that’s what this (holiday) is about.”

The show comes after Mark’s dad Mark Sr was hospitalised with Covid, and his uncle Eddie died from the disease.

Mark’s footballer brother Josh, 33, has also been contemplating the end of his playing career, prompting Mark to want them to go away together for quality time.

He told The Sun: “I wanted to show my dad that it’s not all over yet. When he was sick and lost his brother, he thought about the end of life.

“He’d lost his buzz. And Josh has been restricted from all sorts of activities throughout his football career.

“It was for me to reconnect too. I’ve been a bit distant, in LA, always working, always chasing my dreams.”

Mark’s six-episode show sees the Wrights use their travels to go head-to-head in a range of adrenaline-fuelled activities, including go-karting in Llandudno, skydiving in Skegness and quad-biking in Northumberland.

Mark said about having a scare watching his dad bungee jump: “When dad got to the bottom, where it pulls you back up, his body went completely floppy. He was silent.

“We absolutely c****** it, thinking he’d passed out. Nobody knows this but we could see the crew running around and someone shouted, ‘I’ll get the defib!’

“Me and Josh – our hearts are in our mouths until he responds. To this day he says he didn’t pass out and he did it on purpose, but it was a very scary moment.”
