He plays Noah Bennett - father to Claire Bennett who we saw exposing her power to the world in the final few moments of the last season of Heroes.
Tim Kring, series showrunner will also be making a return for the 13-episode series set to premiere in 2015.
NBC have also revealed an online prequel will lead up to the television broadcast.
No official announcements have been made on any other original stars returning, though rumours suggest Milo Ventimiglia and Zachary Quinto are both onboard.
With Hayden Panettiere pregnant though, it'd be interesting to see if she'll make it onto the show.
