SHANIA TWAIN is set to stage her musical comeback in Las Vegas after landing a two-year deal to perform on the Caesars Palace stage built for CELINE DION.

The country star's Still The One show will open at the Colosseum on 1 December next year (12).

Announcing the big news at a press conference on Wednesday (08 Jun 11), Twain said, "I will let my imagination run wild. I'm going to go nuts creatively."

The residency comes as the singer bounces back from heartbreak, divorce and voice-loss to record a new tune with Lionel Richie, which she will debut during the season finale episode of her U.S. reality TV show Why Not? With Shania Twain this weekend (12 Jun 11).

It has been a great year for Twain so far - she wed new husband Frederic Thiebaud on New Year's Day (01 Jan 11), launched her TV show on Oprah Winfrey's new OWN network and unveiled a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this month (Jun 11).

She says, "It's been a healing year."

Twain and Dion aren't the only stars who have enjoyed residencies at Vegas' Caesars Palace Colosseum - Cher, Bette Midler and Elton John have also performed to sold out crowds, and Rod Stewart is set to join them later this year (11).

Dion recently returned to the venue for a run of shows and Elton John is also set for a comeback.
