Tuppence Middleton

Tuppence Middleton

Tuppence Middleton is a British actress to keep a close eye on over the next few years as she continues to make a name for herself.

The actress is back on the big screen this week as she takes on the central role in Trap For Cinderella.

The movie sees Iain Softley is in the director's chair and is based on the novel by Sebastien Japrisot.

Middleton kicked off her acting career back in 2008 with short film Dance Lessons, before immediately moving onto the big screen with Tormented in 2009.

She took on the role of Justine Fielding in the British horror/comedy that was directed by Jon Wright.

While the movie was met with mixed reviews upon release it did mark the arrival of Middleton on the big screen.

She went on to appear in Skeletons and Chatroom as well as a series of short films including In the Meadow and Ever Here I Be.

The film roles went hand in hand with TV work as she appeared in the likes of Friday Night Dinner and Sirens.

While Middleton has had a few TV roles - Spies of Warsaw being one of the most recent - her focus has been predominately on film work.

Last year the actress teamed up with Sean Bean for thriller Cleanskin; which was directed by Hadi Hajaig.

In the last five years Middleton has worked steadily moving between different genres as well as different mediums.

But Trap For Cinderella looks set to be one of her biggest roles yet as she stars alongside Aneurin Barnard, Frances de la Tour and Kerry Fox.

Micky is a fun-loving photographer, living a party lifestyle in London until a chance encounter with a childhood friend changes her world forever. The opposite to life-and-soul Micky, Do is a quiet bank clerk, with little by way of a social life.

Yet much to the annoyance of her DJ boyfriend Jake, Micky is all too delighted to reacquaint herself with Do, embracing her old friend with typical gusto. But when they return to the tranquil French villa where they spent so many happy summers in their youth, tragedy strikes.

A fire engulfs the building, leaving Micky badly burnt and blighted by amnesia. Unable to even recall her own name, Micky is forced on a shocking journey of self-discovery. For nothing - friends, relatives, lovers and even herself - is as she remembers it.

Trap For Cinderella is set to be one of the British movies of the summer that is not to be missed, while Middleton will cement herself as an actress on the rise.

And she has a couple of other projects in the pipeline as she has already completed work on Love Punch and A Long Way Down.

Love Punch sees her tackle comedy with Emma Thompson and Pierce Brosnan, while A Long Way Down is a big screen adaptation of a Nick Hornby novel.

The actress is currently working on Jupiter Ascending - which is directed by Andy and Lana Wachowski - and is set to be the biggest movie of her career to date.

The action/sci-fi film stars Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, Sean Bean and Eddie Redmayne and is set for a summer 2014 release.

Middleton is an actress going from strength to strength and with Jupiter Ascending it seems that she now has Hollywood in her sights... watch this space!!

Trap For Cinderella is released 12th July
