Juan Antonio Bayona

Juan Antonio Bayona

Juan Antonio Bayona is set to take up the director's chair for the sequel to World War Z.

Bayona is set to take over from marc Foster as development on a second movie is now well under way.

Brad Pitt lead an all star cast this summer as the novel by Max Brooks was adapted for the big screen with Foster at the helm.

Despite the production problems that plagued the film, World War Z went on to be both a commercial and critical success when it was released.

The film grossed in excess of $540 million at the global box office.

Bayona made his feature film directorial debut back in 2008 when he helmed Spanish horror movie The Orphanage.

He moved into English speaking movies for the first time earlier this year with The Impossible; a film that you really should see if you have not checked it out already.

No plot, cast or release date has yet been announced for World War Z 2.
