As part of the official Star Wars Celebration that took place over the past weekend, celebrating 40 years of the Star Wars franchise, it was revealed that Disney Parks had teamed up with Lucasfilm to bring about brand new theme park lands to fans of the property in the near future. Now fans can get a glimpse of what to expect when the lands open, with the video below:
Bringing some of the most recognisable and inspired places from the series to life will of course take some time, with the theme park lands not expected to open until some point in 2019.
Director of upcoming movie The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson stars in the video alongside the executive producer of Star Wars Rebels, Dave Filoni, who both hope that visiting guests will feel as big a part of the franchise as those actually involved with the movie series when all is said and done.
Given such huge resources and attention, this is clearly one of the biggest projects for those at Disneyland and Walt Disney World moving forward. We're going to keep a close eye on this one, as it could be one of the most impressive offerings in theme park history.
