Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3 has enjoyed more box office success this week as it stormed to the top of the Aussie chart, comfortably toppling Shrek Forever After.

Andy is now 17 and ready to head off to college, leaving Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the toy-box gang to ponder their uncertain futures.

When the toys are accidentally donated to the Sunnyside Daycare centre they're initially overjoyed to once again be played with, but their enthusiasm quickly gives way to horror as they discover the true nature of the establishment under the rule of the deceptively welcoming "Lotso" Bear.

Now, all of the toys must band together in one final, crazy scheme to escape their confines and return home to Andy.

The movie took $7.4 million to easily take the top spot as Shrek Forever After had to be content with second place as it too a further $2.7 million this weekend.

There was a second new entry inside the top three and that come in the form of Adam Sandler's new comedy Grown Ups, which also stars Salma Hayek and Kevin James.

There was a two place drop for Russell Brand's Get Him To The Greek, finishing the week at number four, which Sex and the City 2 also dropped two places to round off the top five.

The A-Team was at this week's six, down from last week's four, while there was just a single drop for Animal Kingdom at seven.

This week's biggest faller was Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time as it dropped three places to number eight,

The top ten was rounded off by two more new entries as Marmaduke and I Am Love opened at nine and ten respectfully.
