January Jones has revealed that she did have her doubts over taking on the role of Emma Frost.

The actress is stepping into the big budget blockbuster with X-Men: First Class, which is set for release later this year.

And the actress admits that she was worried because the film was set at the same time of hit show Mad Men.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times the actress said: "When I heard that this instalment of X-Men was going to take place in the '60s I was like, 'Oh my God, you must be kidding me!'"

"But I read the script and familiarised myself with the character of Emma Frost. She’s so, so far from Betty and from Mad Men, and it takes place in that time but it doesn’t feel like a period movie."

Jones did sign on for the movie and then had further worries about her costume.

"It's a lot of very body-conscious stuff," she commented. "If you look at the comic book, she’s barely dressed. She’s got quite the bod, which is very intimidating."

The actress has a couple of other movies due for release later this year as she has already completed The Hungary Rabbit Jumps, which sees her star alongside Nicolas Cage, and Unknown.
