Lea Michele paired a braided updo with her Elie Saab mini
The only way to wear your hair up on the red carpet recently is by decorating it with some type of plait.
Throughout summer the halo braid was the ultimate hair look, after been shown on catwalks like the Erdem Spring/Summer show, and this has followed through on to the red carpet and into the New Year.
At the 2013 People's Choice Awards Lea Michele, Rumer Willis, Katy Perry and Jennifer Lawrence all worked a braided updo.
Not only did they all wear their hair in different styles, they made the look event and age appropriate.
Jennifer and Rumer went for a more romantic look, letting hair and curls frame their face.
Lea went for a more sleek look, not to distract from her beautiful Elie Saab mini.
Then Katy added a beautiful gold sparkling headband, perfectly complimentary to her Valentino mid-length dress.
Since then we've seen Jennifer Lawrence opt for another style of braided updo, Julianne Hough and Louise Roe have tried out the trend.
