Over the summer it started to feel as if makeup had been fading out. With the hot weather and the influx of mask wearing it seems pointless to waste such good products when they would melt or rub off. However, one of the benefits of the winter is that there is no chance of makeup melting on in fact it is more likely to freeze onto your face which doesn’t sound too bad to me, at least it would stick. It can be easy to fall into the same routine day in and day out with your makeup as if it works. Why change it? However sometimes you need to branch out so it is time for a makeup refresh, this means new style and trends to take a whirl at and letting your creativity sore. I have gathered five different makeup looks that you should try at least once this winter as I guarantee you will end up using these tricks as part of your makeup routine.

Coloured eyeliner

As we delve into winter the days get shorter, it gets darker earlier and the leaves fall off the trees it can feel as if the world needs colour. So what better way to do this than to brighten your day with a pop of colour through your eyeliner. There are so many colours to choose from it is about finding the right one for your eye colour as there are some which can make your eyes pop even more. For example if you have green eyes opt for a purple liner as it accentuates and brightens the colour, it doesn't really matter how you apply the eyeliner that is down to your skills. An easy way to add colour is to just line your waterline, this still adds the colour but it is quick and easy to do. If you feel more adventurous try to experiment with wings the bolder the better, a cat eye is a classic and a great place to start if you do not feel too confident.

Two toned lips

Gone are the days of just using one colour of lipstick for the whole lip, especially since the rise of lip kits and influencers, it is hard not to take the plunge and try a new lip combo. To start with make sure your lips are prepped, the best way to do this is to start with a lip scrub, this will remove any dead skin and dryness. Next dab over your foundation or some concealer this gives a fresh and clean base to really make the lip combo pop and show the true colour. No lip combo is complete without a lip liner, begin to line the lips, I prefer to slightly overline mine as it gives the illusion of bigger lips. Add your desired lipstick and then finish with a lip gloss, you should make sure your lip liner and lipstick are the same colour but in two different tones, with the lip liner being the darker. This is an easy way to ensure you have the best lip combo.

Blusher all over

It seems as if blusher has made a huge comeback over the past year, for a while it was as much bronzer as you could fit on your face. However the natural look seems to be taking over and this includes rosey cheeks. Make sure you have the right blusher for you. Some people suit orange tones and some people suit pink tones. It is a good idea to get matched up. Take a fluffy blusher brush and apply to the apples of the cheeks lightly after bronzer, then take what is left on the brush and lightly tickle the nose with it. This is a makeup trend which has taken over social media and gives a youthful glow.

Feather brows

Say goodbye to scouse brows and hello to feather brows, no more thickly painted eyebrows as I’ve mentioned, the natural look is all the rage at the minute and I’m here for it. Feather brows are a quick way to style the brows and take little effort. You can use pear soap and a spoolie or opt for an all in one product both have the same effect. To get the feather look begin by brushing the brow hairs up, this may look strange at first but it is all about perfecting the shape to fit your face. Take a brow pencil and fill in any gaps using small light motions, remember they do not need to be completely filled in, it is just to close some gaps that may show. You can then set with a brow gel which comes with another spoolie this will ensure they will not move throughout your day.
