Guests at the Catalina Hotel & Beach Club's Kung Fu Kitchen and Sushi can dine off nude naked men and women, with the practice mainly reserved for hen and stag parties.

The restaurant's owner, Nathan Lieberman said in an interview with Local 10 News: “You basically get to dine off a naked human body.

'I have a very good-looking staff.  They said, 'We want the money, and we like to be naked’.''

The Japanese practice of serving sushi off the body of a woman is called nyotaimori, with the male equivalent being named nantaimori.

The custom was brought to the Western world after it featured in an infamous scene in the 2008 film, Sex and the City.  Samantha, a character from the film and the TV series of the same name, covers herself in sushi to surprise her boyfriend, but is forced to lay naked for hours after he fails to return home from work.

Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation said: “Generally speaking, as long as the restaurant is adhering to FDA rules regarding no bare skin contact, it should be in compliance”.
