Consider whether the smell was pleasing or repulsive- as this will give greater clarity to the dream.

If it was bad, perhaps you have an inkling that something is about to go wrong or will if you get involved. You sense that a situation will end negatively.

On the other hand, if the smell was pleasant, perhaps you feel that something good will come from a future move or action.

The dream could be telling you to be careful, as something that seems appealing now, might turn out to be the exact opposite, perhaps you are being lured into something that is not quite as it seems.

A bad smell can also represent your dislike of a situation at present, perhaps you don’t approve of the way a scenario is headed or you believe that someone has bad intentions.

Perhaps you feel that something is wrong but you can’t quite put your finger on why. Maybe you need to wait it out and the truth will become apparent if you are patient.

Good smells can be related to how you feel about someone- so consider who else was in the dream with you. It’s possible you think highly of this person. Do you need to tell them how much you think of them?

If you were smelling an object, try to remember what it was, as this will give you a sense of what the dream was referring to.

The dream might be telling you that this object will bring you happiness and help you to achieve your goals, however there’s a possibility that this item could be the very thing that dulls your shine.

The smell- good or bad, should be able to help you decide what this piece is an indicator of.
