Rageh Omaar is 'doing really well' after he fell ill live on air

That's according to 43-year-old 'Loose Women' panellist Charlene White, who has reassured concerned viewers her ITV News colleague, 56, is on the mend after he was rushed to hospital once he began to struggle reading a 'News At Ten' bulletin last month.

During an interview with The Sun newspaper, he said: "Rageh is doing really well.

"I think when he wants to talk about what happened then he will.

"ITV News is a family, we have been checking up on him daily and continuously in fact to make sure he has the support he needs."

After Rageh was given medical treatment in hospital, an ITV spokesperson revealed he was "recovering at home with his family" and wished him a "speedy recovery".

In a statement, they said: "We appreciate viewers of last night’s 'News At Ten' were concerned about Rageh Omaar’s wellbeing.

"Following medical treatment at hospital, he is now recovering at home with his family.

"We are wishing Rageh a speedy recovery and look forward to him being back on screen when he feels ready."

The broadcaster added Rageh was grateful for all the "kindness and good wishes" he had received, and insisted he was "determined" to return to his job after he makes a full recovery.

He said: "I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and good wishes, especially all the medical staff, all my wonderful colleagues at ITV News, and our viewers who expressed concern.

"At the time, I was determined to finish presenting the programme. I am grateful for all the support I’ve been given."

Following the broadcast, 'Good Morning Britain' newsreader Marverine Cole wished the presenter "all the very best".

Taking to X, she wrote: "Wishing @ragehomaar all the very best after being taken ill last night. Get well soon xx (sic)."
