Wedding Invitations

If you are making them yourself or getting someone else to- it’s time to start thinking about them! People will begin to ask you about the nitty gritty details so you need to be able to answer them!  Think about menus, hotels and taxis to include with them and the all-important- making sure the right people have the right one! Don't invite someone to the day when they are only invited to the night do by giving them the wrong invitation!

Honeymoon

Set your budget and start looking at locations. Got to your local travel agents and get some brochures. Think about keeping in budget but also doing something that is once in a lifetime- you are only going to do this the once (hopefully!) so make it an upgrade from your usual 3 star beach holiday. Try to add something in that you haven’t done before or that makes a nice change from the norm.

Bridesmaids

With your wedding dress sorted you can now find the dresses for your bridesmaids. You want to stand out from them so if you are going with a theme as I am with empire dresses for all, ensure that yours has a difference. Blending in with your bridesmaids is the biggest faux pas on your weddings day!

Go with an idea of what you want but be flexible, there is nothing worse than a miserable bridesmaid because you have put her in something that she hates. I went with one that all of my bridesmaids were comfortable in and that suited all of their body shapes. Empire line is great for this is you are stuck with a universal style for different figures!

Registrar/ Vicar

Arrange your ceremony- plan in readings, songs, speeches- whatever you want to make your ceremony unique. Run it through with your officiant and see if there is anything that needs changing, adding or taking away.

Order of the day

Once you have met with your officiant you can start and put a timeline in place right from getting your hair done to when you leave for your honeymoon suite at night. If nothing else it keeps everyone asking questions about where they should be and when to leave you to concentrate on being the blushing bride.  You don’t want people aimlessly walking around on your wedding day.

Transportation

If you are going to the church or hotel and need a means of getting there- book your car, bus, mini bus, taxi or camper van- whatever your desired travel aid!

Book the stylist

If you are lucky enough to have one of these, visit her shop and book what you need for the tables and decoration of the place you are getting married in. From table centrepieces, to chair covers and bows, lights for the archways- to candles and post boxes. There is a lot to think about here, so when you go, get her to lay everything out so you can see what it will look like on the day!
