Holly Willoughby will front the celebrity competition show, which will see famous faces face off against survival expert Bear Grylls in various challenges in the South American jungle and Netflix bosses are sparing no expense to make it a success.

A source told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: "On similar celebrity-led challenge shows like 'Strictly' and 'I’m a Celeb', the line-ups often vary from little-known people to established stars.

"Netflix are determined their collection will be largely killer, with very little filler. They’re not scrimping on paying six-figure fees and aren’t afraid to cough up more for the biggest names.

“They’ll be shelling out an eight-figure sum in all, so the cast will be one of the most expensive in reality TV history.”

The show will air on the streaming service next year.

Netflix previously announced on Instagram: "Introducing Bear Hunt – this new action-packed competition show sees a group of unlikely British celebrities dropped into the Central American jungle as prey for one of the world’s most fearsome predators… @beargrylls! Hosted by @hollywilloughby – coming to Netflix in 2025."

Holly then shared the post on her Instagram Story with the caption: "Breaking News".

A source told The Sun newspaper the show was a "significant challenge" for Holly as it will mark her first show away from terrestrial television.

The 43-year-old star was first mooted as host of the show in January.

A source said at the time: "Bear is working with a production company for Netflix. They want Holly to host.

"A group of celebrities will be put into a jungle where they will have to tackle a series of challenges.

"She is very glamorous and an accomplished host.

"Holly is open to offers. She won’t be rushing into anything and will be carefully cherry-picking her next projects."

It won't be Holly's first time presenting in the jungle, after she co-hosted one series of ITV's 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' in 2018 alongside Declan Donnelly, temporarily taking the place of Dec's regular co-presenter Ant McPartlin.
