Dodgy
Britpop stalwarts Dodgy are to play an acoustic set at the Eden Sessions as part of the day of folk, headlined by Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls on Sunday, July1.
Dodgy will be playing on the Biotik stage in the Mediterranean Biome. Biotik is the result of a long-term collaboration between the Eden Project and Cape Farewell, a creative project that brings artists, scientists and communicators together to engage people in the subject of climate change.
The band had a string of hits in the mid-nineties, including Staying Out for the Summer and their top 5 anthem Good Enough. Dodgy have sold more than a million records worldwide, had a platinum selling album 1996’s Free Peace Sweet and were awarded an unprecedented 90-minute Saturday evening slot on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury Festival in 1997 just before Radiohead.
Their new, critically acclaimed album Stand Upright in a Cool Place comes a decade after their last studio album. In that time they have successfully managed to reinvent themselves to create an album that is relevant and contemporary.
With contributions from Matt Pence, who has mixed for the likes of Midlake and John Grant, Dodgy’s new sound focuses on mellow rhythms and beautiful, precise harmonies.

Stornoway, Bellowhead, the Mull Historical Society, the Staves and Seth Lakeman will also be playing throughout the day, giving the Session a one-day festival feel. The full line-up of bands playing Eden’s other stages will be released soon.
The folk Eden Session joins musical comic Tim Minchin (Saturday June 23), dance supremo Example (Saturday June 30), drum and bass legends Chase & Status and hip-hop singer and producer Labrinth (July 4) UK soul and hip-hop star Plan B (Friday July 6), Blink-182 (Sunday July 8 - SOLD OUT) and indie stars Noah and the Whale and The Vaccines (July 11).
The Eden Sessions enter their eleventh year in 2012, following an acclaimed series of gigs in 2011, featuring Brandon Flowers and Pendulum among others. Previous years have seen performances from acts including Oasis, Kasabian, Mumford & Sons, Florence and the Machine and Muse.
