Fantastic Beasts will be making its return to the big screen with second movie Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald it’s today been revealed. A fantastic first look image of the film’s leading cast has also been unveiled, which you can check out below:

Hitting the big screen in November 2018, The Crimes of Grindelwald features an ensemble cast led by Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Jude Law and Johnny Depp.

Following the first flick, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Depp) was captured by the Magican Congress of the United States of America, thanks to the help of Newt Scamander (Redmayne). Despite all of the work done to keep him away from society, Grindelwald escaped custody and quickly began working on recruiting followers to his rank, most unaware that his primary goal is to raise pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings.

Albus Dumbledore (Law) quickly goes to work to thwart the villainous plan, recruiting Scamander to assist him and face the challenges and dangers ahead. As loyalty is tested between some of the closest family members and friends, an increasingly divided wizarding world looks to be going through changes it may never truly recover from.

Directed by David Yates, The Crimes of Grindelwald is adapted from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling, with the author also serving as producer alongside David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram.

Filming for the flick started earlier this year at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, and fans are expecting big things after the incredible response to the first film in the new series. We can’t wait to see what everybody involved has hidden up their sleeves this time round.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits cinemas across the UK on November 16, 2018.
