The much-loved novel of the same name has been adapted and is set to hit the big screen next year, as Disney bring A Wrinkle In Time to movie theatres across the globe, bringing to life characters that have worked their way into the hearts of millions around the world. From Ava DuVernay, the fantasy-meets-sci-fi film will star big names including Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Zach Galifianakis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Rowan Blanchard, Mindy Kaling and will serve as the debut for rising talent Storm Reid.
Reid takes on the leading role of Meg; a youngster who has to travel through time and space in an attempt to find her lost father, Dr Alex Murry (Pine). Unfortunately for her, he’s “trapped by a darkness spreading through the universe” according to Winfrey’s character, who warns her of the dangers that lie ahead if she’s to move forward with her adventure.
Winfrey was her usual giving self at the expo, speaking on the panel and finishing things up with a giveaway, shouting: “EVERYBODY GETS A POSTER! You get a poster! And you get a poster!”
Director DuVernay meanwhile revealed that “the thing that attracted me to the film is I saw myself in it.”
A Wrinkle In Time is set for release on March 9, 2018.
