A touch of glamour - Mickey's gorgeous eye shadow pots

Designed by Bollywood’s most wanted makeup artist, Mickey Contractor the new cosmetics range is filled with yellow based foundations and concealers that are a perfect match for the olive-based skin tone.

The exciting new 27-piece is thematically based on Bollywood cinema including a dazzling palette of bright fuchsias, teals, plums and neutrals to perfectly complement tan tones. There are also lipsticks, eye shadow pots and palettes as well as the brand’s popular Fluidline gel eyeliner.

Mickey who is also MAC's director of makeup artistry for India said on Stylelist: "The inspiration for this collection really came from what I felt Indian women needed. Pigmentation and discoloration problems around the mouth and under the eyes is something that most people in India have a problem with, so creating the concealers was really important to me,"

"Outside of India, they'll also work beautifully on Hispanic, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern skins, which can also have similar issues with pigmentation,” adds Mickey.

The fabulous makeup pieces have been given Indian names like Viva (marriage,) Jaan (life,) and Athma (soul). Mickey revealed his favourite is a lipstick that he named for his wife: Mehr which means grace.

The Indian influence doesn't just stop at the names; the shades are all well culturally informed as well. For example, the bright shade of pink found in the eye shadow pot is often associated with India as ‘Rani pink.’

Maharanis meaning princesses, from Rajasthan traditionally incorporated the vibrant pink tone into their outfits as a symbol of royalty. There are also bright turquoise shades and daring emerald-greens included.

After a lifetime of working hard in the Bollywood industry Mickey has most certainly left his makeup mark.

"My whole idea was to try and minimize the old Bollywood way of makeup as much as possible , we used to be pan stick and pancake makeup," explains Mickey.

"I wanted it to look more modern, more real, more today, closer to what Hollywood does because it makes it more believable. That was my contribution to this culture."

The stunning new makeup goodies are now available nationwide.
