The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games is based on the series of novels by Suzanne Collins and was adapted for the big screen for the first time back in 2012.

The film saw Jennifer Lawrence take on the central role of heroine Katniss Everdeen while Gary Ross was in the director's chair.

The Hunger Games was one of the most successful films of the year as it won over critics and audiences and grossed in excess of $691 million at the global box office.
