Crab might not be the most obvious choice to eat before having sex however it has within it the power to increase sexual appetite- we find out why!
A lot of shellfish including crabs are very high in zinc and can trigger an increase in the production of sex hormones and heighten libido according to registered dietician Gloria Tsang from Vancouver.
Crabs also contain two very rare amino acids- D-aspartic and N-menthyl-D aspartate. A study conducted at Barry University in Miami and the Laboratory of Neurobiology in Naples, Italy found that in rats- the introduction of these amino acids increased testosterone in the males and progesterone in the females. Both of these hormones are integral in increasing sexual activity.
