There are certain things you'll only do once with your lover- have a first date, enjoy your first kiss, get engaged, get married, but there are things that should be a constant in your life together. Today is America Recylces Day, so we have come up with ten things you should do more than once in your relationship.

Say 'I love you'- This shouldn't be something you say once in a blue moon- you should say it when you feel it and when you mean it. If that is every day- twice a day- so be it. If you don't ever wish to say it to your partner- are you in the right relationship?

Have sex- Try to set aside time for this and not let it slip onto the back burner. You only get to do this with each other so make the most of it.

Listen- Even if you don't understand what they are telling you or it's of no interest to you- listen to them anyway because you expect the same from them when it's your time to speak.

Give them a boost- Your partner is bound to go through periods of feeling low and uncertain resulting in a lack of confidence. It's at this point that you need to be the one to lift them up and bring them out of their slump.

Have a regular date night- You should aim to do this at least once a month. If you can do it more- great! Time for you both to dress up, leave the house, take in a movie, go out for a meal, go bowling- whatever it is that makes you smile when you're together.

Touch- Even if you don't plan on having sex- you should touch your partner. Whether that's a kiss 'hello' or 'goodbye', holding hands when you're out and about or snuggling up at bedtime. It all counts to keep your bodies used to the feeling of skin on skin.

Laugh- This should be something you embrace in your household. Even when times are bad- try to find something to laugh about as it will help you to get through. Life is too short to be worried and serious all the time.

Kiss- You may not have the time for a passionate smooch, but before you leave, when you get home and before you go to bed should be the absolute minimum.

Talk- Communication is vital for compromise, exchanging ideas and information, clarification and expression. It is the foundation of any successful relationship, so you should be talking every day- even if it's about something you consider to be trivial- because everything you say to each other is important.

Focus on the positive- It can be easy to fixate on the bigger car, the extension, the better job and having more money in the bank. Try to get out of this habit and count your blessings- if you have each other, your health, a roof over your heads and are able to pay your bills- you're doing ok.
