The word 'gnarly' comes with negative connotations of being bad or dangerous, however it can also be used to express how exciting something is. In Fact, many surfers use this to describe waves.

So here are some ideas to inject a bit of gnarly or excitement into your relationship.

Find a gnarly hobby- Search for a hobby that excites you both to the point where you want to do it all the time. It could be anything from hiking, rock climbing, scuba diving to rallying.

Meet other gnarly people- Book in for a cooking class, join a reading group, volunteer at your local charity, sigh up for a course and accept all the invites you get- who knows where it could lead? This will help you both to step out of your comfort zone, meet new people and experience new things together.

Travel- If you have a passport- start to use it- you could start small and local and build it up to places aboard. If you don't have a passport- you might want to think about investing in one so you can travel to places far and wide.

Find a gnarly new style- Change room in your house by redecorating it or opt for a new hairstyle. Why not ask your new friends or partner to come and help with the new colour scheme and ask them to give their thoughts on what they think will look good on you before you go to the hairdressers.

Throw a gnarly party- If you have the company, the gnarly nature- then why not throw a big gnarly party? Take lots of pictures, show off the new you and most importantly show everyone what being gnarly has done for you both.
