Gifts are a doddle- Just find out what's coming up, what she hasn't seen and get her tickets to fill the gaps- she will be over the moon.

She has very specific seat choices- If you get her a seat that has an obstructed view- consider yourself on rocky ground.

She'll watch anything- It doesn't matter the genre, the cast, if it's a musical, ballet or interpretative dance- she's game for anything live.

You must always buy a programme- She needs somewhere to house her tickets when she takes them back home to stash with her extensive collection of other theatre related memories. She won't read it but she has to have one nevertheless.

If you crease the programme or the tickets- You will have a very bad evening out. She likes to keep her souvenirs in pristine condition. Handle them with care. Just saying.

She WILL smuggle in snacks- You go to the theatre with such regularity that you can no longer afford a drink and sweets. She will always take her large bag with her so she can bring supermarket own brand stuff to nibble on.

She doesn't take interruptions lightly- If you're sitting near someone who rustles sweet papers, talks, farts, coughs or sneezes, she will want to move and you have to respect her decision or you will be on your own in the second half.

Under no circumstances are you allowed to be late- Or you might as well not bother seeing any of the show if you miss the beginning.

She uses it as social currency- If she finds herself in the company of others who share her passion; you will lose her attention for the rest of the night.

She expects a full discussion about the production in the car on the way home- She likes to dissect every aspect of it so she doesn't feel like the night's over as soon as the safety curtain falls.
