Taking slippers to friend’s houses- Well you’re not going out, so you might as well treat it like your home right?
Falling asleep after one glass of wine- That used to be your appetiser, but now it’s your night cap.
Never going out without your coat- Being cold was for your early twenties- no more!
Getting bed socks for Christmas and being very grateful- There is nothing worse than cold toes of a night!
When you can’t lose six pounds in two days anymore- Your metabolism is not what is used to be!
Taking a keen interest in the garden-Suddenly you care about flowers, weeds and plants- where did that come from?
Spending more money on face creams / anti-ageing products- It’s better to stop it before it’s happened- oh right it already has….
Spending money on the home / furniture rather than a night on the town- A nice new rug, or bed set that I can keep for years to come or a drink that I will down in seconds?
Taking a keen interest in dressing for the weather- Pac a macs are not cool or sexy but hey they keep me dry!
Putting everyday items in the wrong place- Salt on cornflakes, the wrong shoe on the wrong foot- little things like that are just the beginning!
Obsessive bird feeing- They are probably the fattest birds you have ever seen because everyone else who lives around you feeds them with as much gusto- so you continue their journey into obesity!
Really enjoying puzzles and crosswords- Sudoku- give me one any day!
Always driving in the slow lane, or below 70 in the middle lane- And everyone overtakes you and curses you as they do.
Consider going on a ‘no children’ cruise for a holiday- They only disturb the peace anyway.
Joining the National Trust- You get a strange kick out of going around old buildings now- who knew they were so beautiful and interesting!?
Feeling you have the right to tell people exactly what you are thinking even if it isn’t polite- Trying to make people like you is exhausting!
