Dreams can be a beautiful gateway leading away from reality, somewhere calming where our worries can’t catch up to us; this isn’t always the case, however. Some dreams have deep significance and should not be ignored.

Drowning

Water within dreams often symbolises emotions, so if you are drowning in your dream, it can be a sign that you do not have a decent grip on your emotions. You appear to be allowing your emotions to take over big decisions; take a step back and think more about the choice you make.

Your home

If you are dreaming about your home, that is representative of your inner life; so, if your house is damaged or wrecked in any way, it infers you may be subject to self-sabotage. It could also mean you need to take greater care of yourself, especially when it comes to your mental and emotional health.

If your dream includes you finding new spaces within your home, however, it can mean that certain aspect/s of your waking life are blooming.

Vehicles

This dream is a simple one, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t require thinking about. If you are in an out-of-control vehicle, such as a car or plane, this suggests that events in reality are in danger of scattering and becoming unorganised.

You should probably try to take control more often; perhaps at work meetings or taking the lead on making plans with your friends; this way you have more say over waking events and your life will get back on track.

Buried alive

Dreaming about being buried alive can of course be scary, giving you more reason to not ignore this one.

If you feel a lack of power and control, and struggle to scream for help or to breathe, then this infers there is potential conflict in your life. You need to find a way to break the restrictions holding you back and see life in a new way.

However, if you cannot escape on your own, it is a sign that you should contact others for help.

Not being able to move

Being unable to move or being paralysed in a dream can be very scary and confusing, and can mean that you are overwhelmed from too much responsibility, or cannot express yourself well enough.

It may mean you can’t make a choice about what to do, leaving you feeling stuck or trapped; unable to move forward in life. Sometimes, however, we must make hard choices and this dream is telling you to buckle down and make a decision.

Superhero

On a more positive note, dreaming that you are a super-powered being that can fly, for example, are amazingly positive and liberating messages from your dreaming brain.

It can mean that there is more to you than you may realise, and you have so much potential to do well and be happy; you should be bold, proud and able to believe in yourself and your unique self.

Recurring dreams

Having the same dream, or very similar ones, over and over again should never be pushed aside.

Your sleeping mind wishes for you to take note of what the dream includes, so is showing you the same thing more than once as it may be useful for you to figure out and, therefore, be a significant factor for personal growth.

When you no longer have the recurring dream/s, it is a sign that you have understood the message your mind has been sending you.
