Losing teeth is one of the most common dreams people experience. The meaning is about loss as a whole and feeling like you have lost or are losing someone or something in your life.

If you were little in the dream and losing your teeth- this can be interpreted as letting go of part of your old self. If you feel like you're putting on a mask or an act, it could be that you believe you aren't being true to who you really are.

If you fear growing old or have recently reached a milestone birthday- it could be linked to the distress you feel as you may believe you've lost the opportunity to do something in turning a certain age.

Losing your teeth in a dream can also be about change- if you are moving house, changing jobs, starting or ending a new relationship then you might be anxious or uncertain about the shift in your life. That jolt when you think you have actually lost your teeth can be attributed to the same uneasy feeling you get when you are in the midst or about to embark on change.

It can even be about your own self esteem. If you are self-conscious about a part of your body, this can manifest itself to be about your teeth when it's actually about another part of you entirely. When you are young, people often make fun when you lose your teeth, so if you have been teased about your appearance lately- the experiences can become blurred in your dream.

If you think you're not being treated equally, someone is making fun of you are you don't think you're being taken seriously at work or at home then this is often the dream you will have at night.

If you were grinding your teeth in a dream, it's often a sign that you are desperate to say something to someone in your waking life but refrain from doing so to save their feelings.

Perhaps you lack to conviction to do so and think that your confidence will be destroyed if you're honest with this person and that others will react badly to your revelation.

Grinding can also be associated with anger- as this is often something people do when they are bottling up their emotions. Perhaps you are angry at this person and want to tell them how you feel. Your subconscious might be telling you to talk to them when these intense feelings have subsided so you can get the most out of the conversation and can execute it with confidence and clarity.
