A man attending his mother's funeral was left stunned to find a stranger in her coffin.

Jerry Bowman arrived at a funeral home in North Carolina to see the body of his mother, Catherine White, only to find that it was actually Elease McInnis, an unrelated woman who had passed away in the same area.
It is thought that staff got the bodies mixed-up as they were being prepared for burial and relatives of McInnis unwittingly laid White to rest.
Bowman revealed that he had been left appalled by the mistake.
He said: ''I knew what she looked like the minute she left my home at 1.11am on 26 June this year.''
''She doesn't deserve this. Nobody deserves anything like this.''
