A man who lost his wedding ring has had it returned eight years later.

Shawn Howard was hunting in Maine when the jewellery fell off of his finger. He had given up hope of ever seeing the ring again until he noticed a recent social media post and deduced that it was his.
He said: "It certainly is something that you treasure and it's nice to have it back."
Howard discovered that the ring still fits and the discovery had extra poignancy as it coincided with his wedding anniversary with his wife Theresa.
She said: "I was in tears when I found out. I was just grateful that he found it."
