A horse made a daring escape on its way to being euthanised.

The animal was found running loose on a Florida highway last week, and the Alachua County Sheriff's Office has now revealed it has solved the mystery.
Investigators found that the 12-year-old equine was on its way to be euthanised because its owners didn't want it anymore.
A police spokesman has confirmed authorities are looking into making abandonment charges against the driver of the vehicle.
The horse has been named Highway, and it is currently being treated at the Springhill Equine Veterinary Clinic for injuries it sustained during the escape.
