Jon Bernthal made his Marvel Television debut as part of Daredevil season 2 on Netflix last year, stepping into the shoes of Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, and instantly stealing the hearts of everybody watching. He is without a doubt the most popular live action iteration of the comic book character, and it’s been known for some time now that he will be starring in his own original series at some point on the streaming service.

Now, new pictures from the set of filming that very show have emerged, showing Castle in the classic Punisher outfit. Check them out below:
The pictures will of course set the rumour mill afire as to exactly what will be going down during The Punisher, with the character clearly having been caught up in some tough fights judging by the look of his face.
Nothing official has yet been confirmed about the series however, including details about the plot and exactly when the episodes will arrive. It looks to be as gritty and dark as those that have come before it, though.
Daredevil season 3 is also set to begin filming later this year, with collaborative hero series The Defenders hitting Netflix this summer.
The Punisher is expected to drop on Netflix at some point later this year.
