Women Find Men Who Fake Tan Unattractive

The lack of sun this summer may have pushed more of us to hit the fake tan but according to a new survey, using fake tan only makes you unattractive.

Using fake tan on a night out is pretty much a given for the pale ladies of the English shores, and for the TOWIE ladies, it’s more of a daily occurrence.

Escentual.com has revealed that self tanning products have soared over the last month, with their Clarin’s Self Tanning Milk increasing in sales by 333 per cent.

With 47 per cent of women saying that they use self tanners to give them the skin colour they desire, it seems that having darker skin is seen as more attractive, but a survey by Watch My Wallet says differently.

Forty nine per cent of males would say that females who use fake tan are unattractive, with 36 per cent saying it doesn’t bother them at all and only 15 per cent saying they find it attractive.

Combined with this, Escentual.com also found that 85 per cent of women questioned by them described pale skin as ‘beautiful’.

A staggering 97 per cent of women said that models such as Katie Price were ‘too dark’, whilst a tiny 2 per cent of people said they liked their tan to look ‘mahogany’.

It appears that men don’t get away scot free either. These days it’s seen as socially acceptable for men to use sun beds and fake tan to enhance their natural colour, but Watch My Wallet found that it was a major turn off.

The results of their survey showed that a massive 75 per cent of women find men that use fake tan unattractive.

Only 3 per cent of women said they found it attractive, with 12 per cent saying that it didn’t really bother them.

You’d think that living in sunless England would have had us used to the idea that pale skin is beautiful, but if you really must fake tan, then maybe aim for a slight glow rather than a ‘mud bath’ look.
