The Christmas period is the peak time for break-ups. Spending more time over the festive season with your partner without the daily routine and distractions can be the final straw for an already rocky relationship.

However, breaking up at Christmas isn't all bad. In fact, there are some positives to being single during the festive season, here my 7 reasons why you shouldn't feel bad about yor Christmas Break-up, to help you get through the festive period:

You are not alone. In fact, Christmas is the peak season for divorce and lots of people are suddenly single at this time of year.

You don't have to spend time with your in-laws! This year you can choose who you see and do what you want to do.

It's a great time for a fresh start. New Year New You! It's the perfect time for reflecting, and taking time to think about what you want and to set some new empowering goals.

You can work your way through your break-up bucket list of all the things you want to do but could never have done when you were with your ex.

It's the party season! There are so many more opportunities to have some fun and take your mind off your break-up so done your favourite LBD and get out on the party scene.

You can focus on your friendships. Friends often take second place when you are in a serious relationship. Now you can catch up with friends and spend time with people who make you feel good about yourself.

Dating is fun. Nowadays dating is easy and you can do it from the comfort of your home in your PJ's! Sign up to the latest dating app and get swiping.

Take off those rose-tinted glasses when you think about your ex and remember all the things that didn't make you happy. Finding the positives in your situation will help you to get over your heartbreak faster.
