Despite some people proclaiming that nothing is better than sex, 12 per cent of Brits would say that their top craving lies with coffee.

Brits Crave Coffee Over Sex

This meant that the British public actually craved coffee more than they did sex, shopping and alcohol.

The saying goes that the only thing better than sex for a woman is chocolate, and it seems that chocolate even managed to surpass coffee as what Brits crave most.

Cigarettes and chocolate were Brits top cravings, leaving coffee, sex, shopping and alcohol eating their dust!

Coffee is still a big part of Brits lives, as producers of the new ROK espresso maker, who conducted the survey, found.

The healthy number of times to have sex a week is thought to be three to four, but a third of Brits are having three to four coffees a day!

The average number of coffees a day was rated 2.5, with the humble white coffee being the most popular.

Incredibly, some people craved coffee that much that they would drink a worrying six or more cups a day.

How the nation uses coffee differs, over half use it as a wake-up call before work and one in ten men have admitted to use it to disguise a hangover and one in five women have used it as a diet technique to supress their appetite.

Incredibly, both men and women use coffee as part of their dating tactics too. A small 5 per cent admitted to offering their date coffee as a tactic to get them to come home with them.

Patrick Hunt, designer of the ROK espresso maker, said, “The survey results revealed what many coffee drinkers already know – that coffee is central to our day-to-day lives.

“That’s why when I developed the ROK espresso maker I wanted to turn coffee making in to more of a sensual experience than just pressing a button – something I hope I have achieved with the unique hand powered lever pressure system, which puts the user in full control to create their ideal coffee.”
