Natalie Reynolds rescued the omnivorous mammal, named Jasper, when he was just a youngster after he was abandoned by his mother.

Jasper now lives in a big house in Hertfordshire with three dogs and a cat.

However the 35-year-old owner has advised other kind-hearted people, who want to re-home other neglected foxes, not to take them in as a pet because they ''smell'', the Mirror Online has reported.

She said: ''They get such bad press but he's around my children and he just plays with them. He's got a different bond with me. He's not so great with my partner.

''He's not good in a domestic situation. He smells.''
